WINTERVILLE

Winterville was conceived by FACE as a genuine alternative to generic Winter Wonderland-style Christmas events. Launching at Victoria Park in 2014, the emphasis was on creating a rich programme of entertainment and content with an elevated food and drink offering for a discerning London experience-seeking crowd.

APPROACH

At the heart of the concept saw us thematically develop a magical town that pops up in a London park, complete with distinct areas, a town square and quarters. We crafted specially themed venues and attractions around the site, be it the beautiful Spiegeltent venue, our pub “Bah Humbug”, nordic-style ice rink, retro roller disco, craft bars and food markets.

DELIVERY

Using our regular suppliers and crew, costs were kept to a minimum through our buying power. FACE secured planning and permissions through the local authorities, navigating a brand new event model through a challenging licensing consultation.

We led on programming of content areas, including club partnerships with Guilty Pleasures and Bugged Out! through to commissioning of an original pantomime and brokering major attraction deals.

RESULTS

Over 200,000 visitors came to Winterville throughout its month long launch residency.

Now in it’s fourth year, Winterville is established as London’s biggest and most successful alternative Christmas event. FACE have since consulted for various promoters outside of the UK who have been inspired by our creative model.
